White Cloud Weekend!

Spent a Western Front of a weekend under the strict lash of Paul Tobin( http://paultobin.co.nz/?page=show&category=1 ) and Ben Wooten( http://benwootten.com/?page=home ) a couple of days ago at the latest White Cloud Worlds Workshop.
Nothing like having two prominent concept designers kicking your flabby civilian art into shape for ten hours a day!

I have to admit to being a little pensive going in as the brief was kept a secret till all the students were safely chained to their oars. Happily though the subject in question turned out to be a long time favourite movie of mine; Kurt Russell's 'Big Trouble in Little China'!

Having had a bit of difficulty in overcoming the last brief I had undertaken at the workshop (yes, the one that led to a tantrum and several girlish screams...) I decided to keep thing simple this time and just do the one character... which of course had to be David Lo Pan =) (We all love the villains eh?)

Deciding not to be too boring I went for the wild (but semi-achievable) concept of a futuristic Japanese Lo Pan in his mortal form, suspended by an anti-grav 'wheelchair'

Have a look below and see what you think, I'm going to be a typical artist and say 'its not finished yet' however thats just because I'm slow =(

With any luck the other students work will be posted on the Workshop website soon

I reckon you should check it out!  White Cloud Worlds Workshops
