Heres the (supposed) final result of my first erasure process painting.
The erasure in this case comes mainly from painting over existing layers although there are places when I decided to wipe away wet or semi dry paint and there are also areas of scraped and 're-deposited' pigment. One interesting by product of the palette knife scraping is the removal of hard, dried pigment from either the work or my mixing palette itself (as I never really clean them....lazy) This leads to bizarre spots of otherwise unused pigment turning up all over the place. Very satisfying =)
I have titled this work 'Unseen NZ Landscape #1' as for some reason the shapes remind me of the NZ coastline and the colour palette seems to lean that way also.
I could have called it 'Ugrub leads the donkey to victory'
But then no one would get it...
Love this blog - looks awesome
